A Bit About Me:

I’ve always been a very creative person and as I have grown up I have discovered my love for film. After taking a film production course at college and learning about more techniques, styles and practitioners, my confidence has grown.  I have been able to experiment more with a few different styles and techniques as well as losing my fear of using a camera and editing software. I also think it has given me a small taste of what university could possibly offer for me. Within the course I have been able to make stop motion animations, time lapses, double exposure and montage projects to help grow my skills before my final film. I have been able to plan my own projects and I think that my creative mindset has become wider than before and my ability to develop projects is stronger now.

Inspiration

Taika Waititi - Save Ralph

Amelie Strobl

Trolleyfox

There was a large movement - especially on social media - about raising awareness on important issues. I think that by combining my passion for activism, cinematography and education, I could create powerful short films similar to this. Save Ralph blew up almost immediately on Instagram having a massive impact on the users emotionally but it also educated them.

Amelie Strobl is a 17 year old photographer based in Venice. Her talent and eye for unique shots is amazing especially given her age. Her work has already featured in Vogue with her social platforms gaining more and more followers by the day. Due to her age, I feel more confident in my own skills and capabilities as I start my won journey as well.

After researching for inspirational practitioners for my short film "Haunted", I found the YouTube page Trolleyfox. Felix Lovell is a cinematographer from Brisbane Australia who already has multiple awards under his belt. He is a student as well which again brings me confidence in my own abilities. His short film published on YouTube are viewed by hundreds and have always left me feeling slightly uneasy.
